Summer is a funny thing. All school year long we look forward to it, but when it comes, it's never quite the way we imagined. This year I had it all in my head that this summer I was gonna get up at 8 am every morning, exercise and three or four mornings a week practice my violin (I just got the coolest piece ever, it's a bourre by Bach and I love it) and then spend the day chatting/texting friends, cleaning my room, reading, and just enjoy being organized.
I can now officially say that I was wrong. On mornings where I do get up at a decent time it has been because I had something specific planned for the day. Surprise there . . . I've only practiced two or three times since school let out (I promise this will improve, I will not digress again!) . . . My room isn't in the best shape (excuse, I'm packing for camp) and I've hardly read unless its been emails or blog posts. The biggest shocker of all (not) is that my exercise schedule is never a planned thing, its more of, "Hey! (insert friends name here) wanna go on a walk?" (As you can see the exercise is very vigorous.) Usually its a spur of the moment thing.bAnd because of a YW project I'm doing, I've spent quite an amount of time gardening. So much for the ultimate schedule.
Anywho, I guess the point of the post is just to say that just because something isn't the way you planned, doesn't make it bad. My summer so far has been awesome, I really can't think of a time I have been genuinely bored. I've actually been fairly busy between ortho appointments, going to the doctors with Zach, slip and slides with the nieghbor kids in the front yard, shopping with my mom and Kass, going to the pool with friends, and of course the usual computer surfing . . . I really haven't been just sitting around (well of course except for all the computer stuff). This summer is actually shaping up pretty nicely.
Girls camp starts tomorrow, then I'm going camping with some family friends, soon follows a family reunion, EFY, staying at my aunts and youth conference. I'm kinda enjoying it all. Correction- I'm loving it. The only reason to go back to school at this point is to a. see more friends and b. the sooner I'm in it again, the sooner it is over for good. I guess I like learning too so that can be a reason. Any ways, I hope you enjoyed my ramblings of today!
